Directory Methodology
How company identity, services, coverage, provider records, freshness, ordering, corrections, and index eligibility are handled.

What the directory includes
Businesses identified through public sources can be listed with incomplete profiles. Missing optional details do not hide a company. Individual services, contact details, and credentials are shown when supported by their sources.
How companies are discovered
Permitted public sources may identify a candidate. No candidate is published directly from an import; identity and source evidence must satisfy deterministic publication rules first.
Source priority
Current authority records take priority, followed by official company sites, evidenced owner updates, professional associations, permitted providers, permitted directories, and public research.
What “Owner confirmed” means
An authorized representative has confirmed selected business details. This does not verify workmanship, insurance, permits, or every service listed.
What “Registry record found” means
A provider, license, registration, or certification record was found in the named public source. Check the record details and date below.
What the directory does not verify
Inclusion does not verify workmanship, insurance, every permit, pricing, availability, or fitness for a specific project.
How listing order works
Companies on standard directory pages are listed alphabetically by default. Paying, claiming a profile, advertising elsewhere, review totals, and referral arrangements do not determine the default order.
How stale information is handled
Sources have refresh intervals. Stale profiles are labeled and normally remain out of search indexes until critical information is refreshed.
Corrections and reports
Companies can claim profiles and submit evidence-backed changes. Unsupported or conflicting details are suppressed rather than published.
No paid ranking policy
The Septic Pro List does not charge consumers referral fees, does not sell quote requests, and does not sell higher organic placement in the directory.
